FAQs
What is the mission of the Infinite Table?
Our mission is to create cultural empathy and connection through immersive storytelling that brings people into each other’s worlds.
We support our cultural partners by honoring their stories, encouraging people to visit them, and by sharing revenue—10% of gross ticket revenue for Oaxaca: Tierra y Tiempo goes to our Oaxacan cultural partners.
Is this a dining or film experience?
It’s both! You’ll sit at a communal table with other guests. Across five chapters, you’ll watch a documentary film about the stories, people, and places behind five iconic Oaxacan dishes or beverages. At certain points, we’ll project the film on all four walls around you, providing a 360-degree immersive experience.
When the food or drink is presented to the camera, it’ll appear in front of you in real life.
What’s on the menu?
This is what will be served:
Arroqueño Tepextate Mezcal with traditional snacks: garlic chapulínes (fried grasshoppers), seasoned peanuts, and orange slices with sal de gusano (worm salt)
Memela con Salpicón: a memela (similar to a tortilla, but thicker) with asiento (browned pork lard), beans, and salpicón (tomato, avocado, cilantro, and beef salad)
Guisado de Maíz con Cerdo: a spiced stew made with maíz zapolote, a corn native to the Istmo de Tehuantepec; served with pork
Mole Negro con Arroz Estilo Oaxaca: traditional Zapotec mole negro made from 28 ingredients, served with chicken and Oaxacan-style rice
Chocolate Semiamargo con Pan de Yema: traditional Oaxacan drinking chocolate with Oaxacan sweet yolk bread
Are substitutions possible?
There is a vegetarian option, and most of the vegetarian dishes are vegan as well. The menu is naturally gluten-free except for the pan de yema. Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate any other dietary restrictions or make any substitutions. We have crafted this menu to replicate, as closely as possible, the food and drink created by our cultural partners.
What beverages will be offered?
Your ticket comes with one 1.5-ounce pour of Alexis Canales Angeles’s extraordinary arroqueño tepextate mezcal. We will have additional beer and mezcal available for sale.
How long is the experience?
Doors open at 6:30 PM. The experience begins at 7:00 PM sharp and concludes at 9:00 PM. You are welcome to stay and socialize with other guests until 10:00 PM, when doors close.
Is the venue accessible?
The dining space is on the first floor. Please note that the bathroom is up two steps.
Who is on the team?
Visit our about page to see who’s behind Oaxaca: Tierra y Tiempo.
Is this a pop-up? Will there be more?
We will continue to do more experiences taking people to Oaxaca and beyond.
We are working on a much bigger vision for the project. Stay tuned and sign up for our mailing list for updates. If you’d like to get involved in the project, reach out.
